Palau Montaner by Bed and Breakfast in Barcelona

This beautiful building located at 278 Mallorca street just 2 blocks from our Casa Maca Guest House in Barcelona is a beautiful example of modernist architecture. It was designed by the architect Josep Domenech i Estapà.
The project dates from 1889, although in the middle of the construction, the disagreements with the owner made a new architect came on the scene: Lluis Domenech i Montaner, a relative of the owner, who was commissioned to continue the work.

The top of the building is decorated with large glazed tile friezes representing the invention of printing. The interior is elegant and sumptuous with a large staircase adorned with stones and an excellent woodwork.

Today the building is property of the government and require an appointment to visit it.
