Eixample of Barcelona by Bed & Breakfast in Barcelona

Recently an article in the Dutch fashion-and lifestyle magazine ‘red’ described with great enthusiasm the neighborhood “Eixample” in Barcelona. Literally the ‘barrio’ was described as the hippest of all in Barcelona.

Eixample” simply means “extension” in the local catalan language. This neighborhood was designed already some time ago, the late 19th century, by Ildefons Cerdá. The typical octagonal blocks give more visibility and ventilation at the street crossings although these days this is quit successfully ruined by parking… Most of the beautiful modernistic buildings were built-in the barrio Eixample, absolutely worthwhile to walk through on a sunny day!

Is in this beautiful area where are located our Bed & Breakfast, come and enjoy of our neighborhood.
